XiaMen, China

This last time we travelled together was in 2007 when we went to Turkey. Nowadays it is harder for our family to get together. Anyone agrees doctors have good social working day and time? Aye?

We have been to China before more than 10 years ago. I expect a lot of development in China, but it still gave me surprises, as the development is more than I can imagine. Well, Europe is no more a competitor for China, and I have been to the States last year, it is also not comparable to China too.

All the horror stories about toilets are histories now, their toilets are hotel standards now.

Food, accommodation, transport are excellent.

Driving attitue is another matter.

Chinese food in Malaysia is actually very Cantonese-influenced, mainly from Hong Kong. Lots of other varieties that we haven't seen before.

Many of the new ideas are originated from there. Here is abalone in yam soup.

And I tried this pudding, which has worms in it. They are unique, but I reserve my compliments about the taste.

My grandfather's decision in the 1920s to leave Fujian by foot, then by boat to the unknowing Borneo, I must say it was a brave idea. Relatives from China found us in Malaysia before we find them in China.

Mercedes are cheaper in China, half the price in fact. Dad was trying to figure out the GPS, in Chinese, but very very advanced.

This is only XiaMen, imagine what it is like in Shanghai.

More to come.

Petronas Twin Tower

Dr. M has probably done the right thing to build the Twin Towers. They are the only thing that visitors seem to remember after travelling to Malaysia.

It will be ashamed if I tell anyone that I haven't paid them a visit and I am a Malaysian.

It's free entrance, but there is a technique to get the tickets.

My opinion of value of visiting: reasonable. It does have a good short 7-minute introductory film.

Causeway Motorcycle Race

I never know in Causeway there is an International Event like this.

The population doubles, with traffics everywhere.

Imagine what will end up in Accident and Emergency when a bike crashes at 200 mph.

Just out of curiosity, I went to see the event too.

Nike Shoes

Most girls like to go shopping for clothes. Whereas for guys, we go to Nike, Adidas, JJB.

For most guys, a pair of sport shoes is a must.

It's practical, you can wear it for sports, or for casual.

I am running Belfast Marathon in May, so I bought a pair of Nike for training.

Well, it cost me under 35 pounds, not cheap but reasonable.
